Week One...

We've had our little guy for a whole week and we think he's pretty awesome. Here are a few more photos from the hospital and our first days at home.

Davis and his cousin Pierce, Lyndsey's baby. They are exactly the same age difference as Olive and Grant. I'm sure they're going to be the best of friends.

Grant has been wanting to go camping for a long time now...ever since he saw a Curious George camping episode. So Adam decided to set up the tent and take the boys camping.

Here's a quick glimpse. Born last night, 8/10/10 at 9:05 pm. Weighing in at 7lbs 7 oz and was 20" long. Everything went great and we're feeling good.

Yesterday

We have been having some awesome summer thunderstorms here lately. I love a good warm rain thunderstorm. Yesterday while there was a break in the rain but still some wind, Adam took Grant kite flying while I put my feet up:) I think was great for everyone.

They might not look that bad in the picture (I swear they look worse in real life), but let me tell you, they're bad. So so swollen. I went to young women's last night and my girls had a great time playing "let's make holes in Sister Hepworth's putty legs and feet."  They really do feel like playdough. You can push on my feet or legs and make all kinds of impressions that will stick, so fun. 

And my hands look like this...I can't wear my wedding ring or even my watch...so puffy. Remind me to never have a baby in the summer again.

And my sad face looks like this. Please come baby boy. I know you technically still have 6 days until your actual eviction date, but I was so hoping you'd surprise me early:)! That would be a very welcome surprise.

Summertime with the Pierces

The Pierce family vacation usually takes place at Bear lake, but this year we decided to stay a bit closer to home and go to Eden where my Aunt Marilyn graciously let us use her vacation home. We went for a week, with 11 kids all under the age of 8...can I say craziness?! It made me realize that from here on out I'm probably going to need a vacation from these vacations since they are not for me but for the kids. My mom said..."they are for the cousins to make memories." Which is true. Some of my favorite memories are vacations with my cousins. I'm really one of the adults now. Weird.

We had a great time though and the best part about it was that the kids LOVED it. They probably wanted to stay all summer. We did a lot of tubing, which was the favorite of the boat activities, and a lot of playing on the beach.

 We made A LOT of food. When you have kids you're ALWAYS making food, right? 

And we learned how to tye-dye shirts, which was so fun. I've never done it before, but it's pretty easy and our shirts turned out awesome.

 We went to the pool a couple of different times and Grant insisted that we bring and blow up the Orca Whale. Ever since we went to Sea World he really likes Orcas, and that's what he calls them. Weird, I know. So when he saw the box of the blow up toy Grandma brought there was no going back. We had to bring it to the pool.

I need to get the video from her. Do you love their bed heads? Oh my gosh, they make me laugh. And do you love their Eden shirts? Adam was so nice and made a bunch of logos for everyone to put on their tye-dyed shirts. 

 

 Grandma brought her dress-ups which of course the little girls AND Grant loved. He was obsessed with all the different hats and had to try them all on. 

Below, we swam in the lake, hung out on the beach (look at Meagan's cute prego belly) and had fun just being in the boat.

 

We had story time with Grandma after long days of playing. 

We learned a lot about our ancestors because every night someone prepared a little a something about one of them. Below, Keri and her boys enlightening us about our family history. 

We CUT GRANT'S HAIR!! I was really loving his long hair, but it was time...

We played "Do you love your neighbor" a bazillion times since it was the kids favorite.

We took just the girls out on the boat one evening before the boys went golfing, with NO kids, so Keri and Lyndsey got in some wake boarding time. Mom did too, as you can see below, even though she looks terrified!

We attempted to get a picture of all the kids... somehow Andrew is cut out of the first one and Spencer is missing. 

Now Andrew AND Spencer are missing, baby Pierce is being smothered and Isaac is trying to escape.

Yay, we have Andrew, Spencer is still missing and Isaac is really ready to jump now. I guess it's the best we'll get.

 

Next year there will be at least two more kiddos added to this mix!
