A little bit of everything...

1. This past week was Adam's 29 birthday! woohoo!! He's finally as old as me. He always claims that we're the same age, but I'm totally older than him. C'mon, I turn 30 this year and he's only 29. He's such a youngin. I think anyone who reads this blog knows that I'm crazy in love with my husband. He's my favorite person in the world. He's the person I love waking up to in the morning, especially on the weekend, the one who has more talents that anyone else I know, the one who notices my favorite shoes are wearing at the heel and makes a secret trip to the shoemaker, the one who's always happy to see me after a long day of work (at a job he hates) even when I'm grumpy, the one who does funny dances and makes me laugh, the one who Grant wants to be with most (of course he does), the one who talks me out of my tree a million more times than I talk him out of his, the one who kisses me the same as he did when we were engaged, the one who knows the answer to every question, the one who is the rock of our family, the one I love having my arm draped through when we go places, the one I want to spend my time with, I love him, and basically can't get enough of him. Happy Birthday Babe!

For Birthday surprise we went skiing, had burgers at Davanzas, and caught up on LOST while eating treats. We also had a family birthday dinner and I made my first fondant cake, with a LOT of Lyndsey's help, ok she did 90% of it.

2. Grant Update: He really likes Grandma Great

His new thing is to play in his crib before he goes to sleep. This is what I found the other day about 10 minutes after I put him down for a nap.

He's an explorer, always getting into anything and everything.

He loves climbing on the laundry, especially after it's all folded.

He has 8 teeth and wears big boy clothes

3. Girls night out - once a month we have a gno. This past month we got together to celebrate Amy's birthday and make sushi. So fun. I missed the other party of cake making at Lyndsey's, but I heard it was great. My friends are the best. Seriously.

4. Tonight we went on a walk, thinking the weather was pretty nice even though there were a couple of rain clouds in the distance. Adam asked me how long I thought we had before it started raining... I gave it 30 minutes. About 10 minutes later we were running home, and it was pouring!

Salt Lake Half

Last weekend Lyndsey and I ran the Salt Lake half marathon. It was my first post baby race and was a good excuse to get me out of the house to train. It was actually a really great course, with people cheering us on the whole way, offering us orange juice, bacon (seriously, there was some guy cooking bacon on the side of the road) and music. So fun.

Adam's good friend Steve is a director for teamgive, and Bluehouse is now one of their sponsors. Team give participated in the bike tour part of the race and had a booth at the finish line that Adam was a part of. So he HAD to be at the race. It was fun to have him there with Grant waiting for me when I came in.

Lyndsey was awesome to run with. She stayed with me the whole time even though she could have left me in the dust at mile 1.

The race went right by Adam's parents street, so they all walked down to wave and cheer us on when we went by.

The race was a great precursor to the Wasatch Back which is coming up here in a couple of weeks. I wanted to do it so bad last year but had just had a baby, so this year I'm doing it hooray! ALSO, Lyndsey and I just found out that we got in to the Spud Man triathlon, AHHHHHHHHH. I'm kind of freaking out. I think I might die. Please bless I will be able to do it.

Easter

Easter weekend was filled with family, food and lots of treats...lots of treats. I swear I have eaten chocolate for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks etc for the past week. It's crazy. On Sat. we had lunch and an easter egg hunt at my parents. Of course we couldn't get a pic of all the kids smiling or looking at the camera, this was the best I got.

Grant really got into the "put the eggs in the basket" thing. His favorite thing to do these days is to put stuff places, like the silverware in the holder in the dishwasher, the toys in the bucket, anything and everything in the trash can, etc. He is such a good cleaner uper! And those plastic easter eggs have kept him entertained in church for the past two weeks now. Who knew they were such a baby pleaser.

Olive was just cruising all over the back yard. It's funny to see her walking because she' s so small.

On sunday we celebrtaed Vanessa's Birthday and had an easter Egg hunt with the Hepworths. Yes, the adults still hunt at the Hepworths, since Grant is the ONLY little guy.

Two Years

Monday was our 2 year anniversary. Adam was in China and I woke up to this...

i was sad, especially because i was wanting this...

...my husband and springtime. can you believe 2 years ago the same day it looked like this? i don't know if I can take one more snow storm. to make myself feel better I looked through some of our March 30th 2007 warmer weather pictures...

it was a perfect day. one of my happiest. and the past two years have been equally as wonderful.

i'm home, but i feel homesick. life is so much happier with my better half. come home soon honey, i'm dying without you.

happy anniversary adam, i love you.

ps, i just got a phone call...adam's flight in shanghai has been cancelled, he may not be home until sunday. ahhhhhhhhhhhh, the worst.
