So last semester when I got the roster for my class I almost died at the names I was supposed to be able to pronounce. Names are a big deal, no one wants their name to be mispronounced, that's the worst. It took me about two weeks to even have the guts to say some of my student's names because I knew I was going to say them wrong, (I would seriously practice at home) then they would feel bad and come in the next day with their new "American name." For some reason I thought this semester would be better since I've had some practice and all. I was wrong. I just want you to have a little taste of what I mean... can you say these names? Some Exciting New Year's News...
Since we didn't send out a Christmas card we thought we would post a family update here. We brought in the New Year by getting a few runs in on New Year's Day.
This year has been wonderful and we have been so blessed in many ways. We are back in Utah, missing the romance of the big city, but loving being close to family and the mountains. We have been busy playing and working. Here are some highlights of our 2007...
- Got married in March and have begun our happily ever after
- Honeymooned in the Caribbean
- Threw the idea of dental school in the garbage and started Bluehouse Ski Co
- Rented a perfect little apartment on Manhattan's upper east side and enjoyed the city for 3 months while I finished school
- Road tripped cross country and saw all the church history sites, something I've wanted to do for a very long time
- Moved into my Parents House!!! Oh so fun
- Took a trip to Hawaii, just the two of us
- Adam got a day job at Fidelity Investments
- Got our first shipment of 500 pairs of skis!
- I got a job teaching ESL at UVSC
- Saw my two brothers, Eric and Marcus, and Adam's brother David off on missions - Guatemala, Mexico and Russia
- Helped my parents get things ready for them to move to London for a job change, now we get to house-sit until July
- Celebrated the holidays with the Hepworths AND the Pierces
- Accepted a call to serve as CTR 5 primary teachers!
and now for our most EXCITING NEWS...
- Got PREGNANT!! We are having a boy and couldn't be happier. The pics of the ultra sound below aren't very good but I thought I would post them anyway.
He is healthy as far as we know and expected to come mid May. We will keep you updated.
and here is our last bit of exciting news...
- Bluehouse has been getting some great reviews and has even been mentioned in Ski magazine and some other publications. A couple of weeks ago, someone from the NY times contacted Adam about a story they were putting together. They interviewed him on the phone for about an hour and the story came out in last Friday's paper! Here is link if you want to read it. Link Adam was quoted as Mr. Hepworth...makes him sound so old and official. He was just really excited to even be mentioned in the NY Times. Hooray for Bluehouse.
We had great 2007 and expect 2008 to bring many more adventures. We hope you all had a happy holiday season and wish you an even better coming year.

Our First Christmas
Christmas with the one you love is absolutely wonderful. It was so nice being the same city for the entire holiday! No flying across the country to be with each other for just enough time to get really sad when it was time to leave. No having to leave the family Christmas party in separate cars to go home and sleep alone. It was so nice. We decided since it was our first Christmas we'd get a REAL tree. It was just a little guy but so pretty and smelled just as you would expect. 
I love it when you're first married and you have tons of money and can buy the one you love all the gifts they could ever wish for. Isn't that the best? If you are jealous of how many presents are under our tree for the just the two of us know that I wrapped each pair of socks separately (in boxes that were obviously to large) just so he would have lots of presents to unwrap. That's the fun part isn't it?

Love my Asians
We had a "Holiday" party the last day of class. Everyone brought some kind of food from their country. Well it was mostly Japanese since 4 of my ladies are Japanese and then I have one Italian, Catia, who brought two of her Italian friends to the party. This is my favorite class. 
Yumiko brought this weird sardine, almond, walnut stuff that was sweet and crunchy. I ate it. Even the eyes of the little fishes! Also some kelp salmon roll up thing which was pretty gross. I tried it but almost threw up.

Masako brought these vegetable rice cups with shredded egg on top. Interesting.

A weekend with the girls
If you can believe it I still hang out with my high school girlfriends. They are the best in the world. I feel so blessed to have had such great friends for so many years. Every year we try to get away for a weekend with just the girls. Now that the majority of them have kids, it's a little harder but they always seem to make it happen. We left the husbands and the babies at home and went on a little weekend get away to Las Vegas! How romantic!
It was a perfect weekend with our first stop being the spa where we got waxed and Amy got her hair done. We shopped, ate, talked. I don't think we ever stopped talking. Since I don't have kids yet I don't think I can fully appreciate the time alone...everyone kept commenting on how nice it was to be shopping without kids! I can only imagine, trying to be in the dressing room with your one year crawling out from under the door and you having to run after her half dressed.
Laura's family has a place in St. George where we stayed the first night. Lucky for us it was just the time when all the smoke detector batteries needed to be changed. We thought we could take the beeping until all 4 of them in the house started beeping at different times!! AHHHH, so annoying. Thanks goodness for tall friends. Laura and Amy were pretty proud that they fixed them all.
Does this spot ring a bell for all you high schoolers? How many years of pictures do we have right here?
