The Farm
This past weekend we took a quick trip up to Idaho for my cousin Veronica's mission farewell, and to take a tour of Grandpa's farms. In our three years of marriage Adam has never been to Idaho, well he's been to Idaho, but not OUR Idaho. It was also Grant's first time. I told Grant on Saturday morning, as we were packing some things in his bag, that we were going to go swimming and needed to pack his swim suit! Ever since we went to California he has been talking about swimming. It was probably not the best thing to tell him first thing in the morning because ALL day long he kept asking me to go swimming. So FINALLY when we got to the hotel that evening we got to go swimming! He was in heaven. I took like ten pictures and this was the best I got? He would never look at the camera.
After the farewell on Sunday we went to my uncle's house to feed the horses and see some of the new calves that were recently born. We didn't even change out of our church clothes. So here we are on the farm in our Sunday best:)
This poor little calf wasn't getting any milk from his mama and so was up at the house to be bottle fed. Grant LOVED petting him and kept calling him a "baby lamb." Even after I told him a bunch of times it was a calf, a baby cow, he was pretty sure it was a baby lamb.

We climbed on the haystack and drove the tractor. I think Grandpa liked playing on the farm with Grant as much as Grant liked it.

This video isn't that special, but I just figured out how to post one here. Hooray! This was at the hotel after we went swimming.

California
Lyndsey and her family invited us to escape the cold and visit sunny California with them! Adam couldn't get away from work so my mom came as well. It was really a perfect trip. The weather was a dream, 80 degrees all week. I'd forgotten what it felt like to be in the sun. It made me so happy! We went to the beach, Sea World, the Wild Animal Park, and DISNEYLAND! I was little afraid that Grant wouldn't love the parks since he's a little young, but he totally had fun and can't stop talking about the "big whale shamu" and the "nemo ride."

Grant and his best bud, Olive.

I think Sea World was probably Grant's favorite. He was obsessed with the dolphins and kept wanting to go back to the dolphin tank.

The Zoo and the Wild Animal Park were also pretty fun for him because he can now say all the names of the animals. So he was shouting animals names the whole time we were there. It made me laugh.

There was a baby elephant just four days old at the Wild Animal Park. You can't see him in this pic, but he was huge for being four days old. I cannot imagine having a baby that big!
Disneyland was super for fun Lyndsey's girls because they had been waiting to see the princesses ALL week. Grant actually liked meeting the princesses too:) The pic below is Grandma and Grant waiting in line to meet Tinkerbell. It was really nice to have my mom with us, we had four adults to 3 kids...nice.

The Nemo submarine ride was the hit of the day for Grant at Disneyland. I actually thought it was pretty cool too.
Oh, and the horses. He would have ridden the horses all day if we would have let him.

By the end of the day Grant was pretty tired, look at that dazed face, ha.
We had such a great time. I loved it as much as the kids. Now we're home, waiting and praying for Spring. Please come soon!
